RTI reveals irregular appointment in Council court

SHILLONG: Irregularities in the appointment of registrar in the District Council court in 2016 without advertising or conducting an examination for the post has come to fore following an RTI filed by a concerned individual.
Replying to the RTI query, the concerned public information officer informed that the post was not advertised and hence there are no details of the number of candidates applying for the post.
Further, the RTI revealed that the post was created during the Budget Estimate 2016-2017. Any graduate with a LLB degree was eligible to apply for the post.
