TURA: Residents of 14 villages, which were recently put under Rerapara block in South West Garo Hills, have threatened to move court against the State Government if the villages are not brought back under Rongram Block in West Garo Hills.
Blaming the Congress-led Government in the State for causing inconveniences, the residents said the move was to gain political mileage.
As many as 140 residents from the 14 villages under Rongkhon Songgital Gram Sevak Circle raised their voices against the move at a public meeting held recently at Danakgre near Tura.
“The decision to include our villages under South West Garo Hills has been taken without our consent leading to confusion and inconveniences to the residents. The move is politically motivated and we, along with all the Nokmas, jointly resolved to oppose it and will move court if the government fails to address the issue,” they said.
