Advanced ICU unit inaugurated at Nazareth

SHILLONG: Health Minister Roshan Warjri inaugurated the state-of-the-art ICU complex at Nazareth Hospital on Thursday in the presence of Archbishop Dominic Jala.
The new complex occupies an entire wing of the hospital covering an area of 6,000 sq ft and was built at a cost of over Rs 1 crore.
The ICU complex was constructed by following international standards in terms of bed space, equipment for each bed, qualified manpower and controlled airflow.
The advanced intensive care has facilities like Haemodialysis, ventilator support and advanced patient monitoring.
The complex has 11 ICU beds, seven high dependency units and a haemodialysis unit with a capacity of performing dialysis simultaneously on four patients.
The complex also features two isolation rooms with positive and negative pressure for enhanced patient, staff and environmental safety.
There will be six consultants, 30 nurses, a physiotherapist and four medical officers to attend to patients in the complex.
Praising Nazareth Hospital for its services, Warjri assured all necessary help from the government to the hospital.
