NONGSTOIN: A defamation case has been filed against former HSPDP women’s wing leader, F. Marngar, after she refused to apologise for her statement against president of local party unit and Nongstoin MLA D. Jyndiang.
Jyndiang sent legal notice to Marngar for her refusal to tender apology within 48 hours after she made the statement as to who should be allotted party ticket.
In a statement issued on Friday, Marngar said she was shocked to receive the legal notice sent by the advocate of Jyndiang, demanding Rs. 1 crore for defaming his reputation without any just cause or reason and to reply within 15 days from May 19.
Marngar asserted that she has done nothing wrong as a party worker as she has the right to question about the party ticket and added that she had not given any false statement.
Jyndiang also threatened to drag Marngar to the privilege committee of the Assembly, statement said.
Marngar also alleged that Jyndiang is not fit to be a lawmaker as he ill-treats the women leaders.
“As a leader, he should solve the problem within the party itself but he does the opposite, make a fuss along with his fellow supporters, which shows that he is not fit to lead the party.” Marngar added.
Further, Marngar added that she doesn’t have money to pay him but she will fight for the right cause.
