2 killed in separate accidents, many injured

SHILLONG: While the State Government on Monday approved the Meghalaya State Road Safety Policy, accidents continue to take place in the state.
On Sunday, around 10 pm, a motorcycle ridden by Kitboklang Nongrum (18) skidded on the road at Sohryngkham in East Khasi Hills.
The pillion rider sustained injuries and was removed to CHC Nongkrem and was referred to Woodland Hospital, Shillong where he was reported brought dead.
In another incident took place on the same day, when a scooty (ML-08B-4860) ridden by Ajay Koch (21) met with an accident at Bolsalgre in South West Garo Hills. The rider sustained injuries and was shifted to Ampati for treatment.
On June 3, one Maruti van (ML-05F-1260) skidded off the road and hit against a wall at Umroi Umdohbyrthih in Ri Bhoi. The three occupants of the van sustained injuries and were shifted to PHC Bhoirymbong.
On the same day, one motorcycle (ML-13-3324) ridden by Dinat Momin (56) met with an accident at Samingre village in West Garo Hills.
The rider sustained grievous injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Tura, where he succumbed to his injuries.
