Golaghat: A 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a teenaged girl at Kurighoria in upper Assam’s Golaghat district and sent to jail custody. Ali was working as a mason at the house of the girl had allegedly raped her on June 8, police said on Saturday. The people of the area where the girl lives filed an FIR in Dergaon PS and the accused was arrested on Friday at Kurighoria, police said. The girl was sent for medical tests and treatment, police said adding Ali, who hails from Nagaon district, was produced on Saturday before a local court that forwarded him to jail custody. (PTI)
