SHILLONG: The members of Garo Students Union (GSU), Achotchonggre Sub-Unit, Under Mendal Unit, North Garo Hills have expressed concern over the dilapidated condition of the timber bridges of PWD at Rajinggre, A’chotchongchi area.
“We had met the concerned department officials several times to repair the bridges but in vain. These bridges were damaged from the beginning of this year but the department failed to repair,” said Lucky G. Momin, pre-sident, Achotchonggre Sub-Unit.
He said all the timber bridges from Rajinggre to Achotchonggre were in bad condition.
“Not even a single bridge is good to cross by vehicles. We are aggrieved over the adamant attitude of the department. Many times we had made appeals to the concerned officials to look into the public grievances but in vain,’’ Momin said
