SHILLONG:The Meghalaya Council of Trade Unions and Associations has urged the State Government to raise the minimum wage level to Rs 300 per day.
In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma here on Tuesday through the Deputy Commissoner of East Khasi Hills, the union also demanded that the public distribution system (PDS) should be strengthened. “Provide adequate compensation to the farmers who suffered due to calamities,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya Council of Trade Unions and Associations also demonstrated here in the city on Wednesday as a part of the All India protest action by trade unions.
