Kynjat Phutbol residents get motorable road after 40 yrs

SHILLONG: After 40 years of wait for road connectivity, the residents of Kynjat Phutbol, Lumparing, finally has something to smile as the foundation stone for a motorable road was laid on Saturday.
MLA of South Shillong Constituency, Sanbor Shullai, laid the foundation stone for the construction of one kilometre road.
The one km motorable link road connecting Kynjat Phutbol from the existing PWD road will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 82, 88, 200 under the PWD Special Planning Assistance (SPA) scheme.
The road project came as boon to more than 300 people, who are yet to have motorable road, and to the patients as they can avail ambulance to their doorsteps now.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Shullai said, “This road will greatly benefit the people of Kynjat Phutbol as many have suffered in times of emergency and financially as there was no proper road connectivity.”
The MLA also said that with the upcoming road, the lives of the people will be better and employment will also be generated through the inflow of tourists as Kynjat Phutbol is located at a hill top, overlooking the city of Shillong. The target for the completion of road project is December this year.
