Six trucks with illegal coal detained

SHILLONG: Six 12-wheeler trucks carrying illegal coal from Umling and Shangbangla areas in Ri Bhoi were detained on Sunday.
The drivers and the porters have also been detained.
Several cases of illegal transportation of extracted coal were reported from Ri Bhoi in June. The deadline set by the National Green Tribunal for transporting coal was May 31.
