UDP slams Congress for intruding into ‘family matter’

SHILLONG: The Union Democratic Party (UDP), West Shillong Constituency had slammed the 18-West Shillong Block Congress Committee for resorting ‘politics’ in the 6-year-old girl, whose earrings were snatched incident.
Stating that Congress has no right to meddle in a family issue, organising secretary of UDP West Shillong, Gerald Shullai, said, “It is a family issue and it has nothing to do with politics.”
The mother of the girl, Lily Kharbamon was annoyed after the matter was brought to light by the West Shillong Block Congress Committee, as it is a family matter and that a compromise has been reached.
The West Shillong Block Congress Committee had called for an investigation into the recent incident in which gold earrings of a six-year-old girl were snatched while she was playing.
