Nine litres dendrite seized by city police from Polo Bazar

SHILLONG: The city police seized nine litres of dendrite on Thursday from M/S Z S Hardware at Polo Bazar for selling the adhesive material to juveniles.  The owner of the business is house has been identified as one Narul Choudhary.

City Police on Thursday seized nine litres of dendrite meant for selling to juveniles from a hardware store at Polo Bazar. ST

The City police raid team was led by Sub-Inspector Sunny Lynrah along with a special team of Sadar Police Station in the city.

Police said, a case U/S 77 of JJ Act was being taken up and a fine of Rs two lakh was likely to be imposed on the accused as per the new provision of Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act.

Sadar Police station in an earlier instance too had caught one businessman selling dendrite to juveniles at Police Bazar.

The city police have appealed to the people to feel free to pass on information to the police whenever they notice such activities like drug abuse, dendrite abuse taking place in their localities. Police maintain that the society can be purged of the deadly problem of drug abuse only when the public and police join hands in the fight against the menace.
