SHILLONG: Despite the crackdown, people continue to attempt to transport coal in violation of the National Green Tribunal Order.
On Monday, Magistrates along with the team of police detected one truck (ML-04B-2274) while unloading coal at Moopala village in East Jaintia Hills.
However, the driver and labourers fled, leaving behind the vehicle.
Earlier On July 13 at 11.55 pm, Police detected five coal laden trucks – ML-04C-3639, driven by Mul Bhoi, AS-01GC-4565, driven by Md. Abdur Rahman, NL-01Q-2424, AS-01GC-5334 and AS-01FC-4245, while transporting coal at Phramer in West Jaintia Hills.
However, three drivers of trucks fled away.
