KHADC lauds Tripura council on forest rights Act execution

 AGARTALA: Chairman of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) of Meghalaya Fabian Lyngdoh has appreciated the activities of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) for its successful implementation of Forest Rights Act.

In his address at a function organised by the TTAADC, Lyngdoh said, “The tribal council in Tripura has done excellent job in settling down the tribals in the state under the forest right Act “.

A four-member delegation of KHADC headed by Lyngdoh met authorities of TTAADC at Khumulwng, the council’s headquarters, about 20 km from here.

During the meeting, Chief Executive Minister Ranjit Debbarma briefed them about the activities of tribal council for the welfare of Indigenous People.

Ms Sandhya Rani Chakma,Executive Member of the tribal council and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nepal Chandra Sinha were present.

Earlier, the KHADC delegation called on TTAADC Chairman Monsagai Mog and shared views on the functioning of autonomous district councils.

It may be mentioned here that a delegation of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly headed by Manas Chaudhuri had visited Khumulwng and held meeting with the TTAADC officials recently.
