SHILLONG: The Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) has served a legal notice to the Chairman of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) demanding removal of anomalies in results within 15 days from the date of receipt of the legal notice.
The organisation has threatened to take legal recourse due to its negligence in not taking corrective steps to remove the anomalies.
MSSASA said the institute that was training elementary teachers delayed results. In the legal notice to NIOS, the association’s Shillong High Court Bar Association advocate, K. Chisa, stated that the results  were declared on September 9, 2016, while the scheduled date for the results was December 16, 2015.
Another anomaly pointed out by the SSA teachers’ association is that the internal assessment marks and practice marks are not inscribed. Some of the trainees who were present for the examination were marked absent.
There was a demand from NIOS to issue original mark-sheet and certificate to members of the association. MSSASA asserted that NIOS failed to take corrective measures to remove the anomalies.
