SHILLONG: Army personnel of the Shillong Cantonment paid homage to the martyrs of the 199 Kargil war at Rhino Heritage Museum on Wednesday.
The guests lay wreaths at the memorial of late Captain Keishing Clifford Nongrum, MVC, whose exemplary courage and sacrifice led to the capture of Pt 4812 in Batalik Sector in one of the decisive battles.
Lieutenant General Depinder Singh Ahuja, General Officer Commanding 101 area, was among the dignitaries.
Keishing Peter Nongrum and Saily Nongrum, parents of Captain Nongrum, and other family members were also present on the occasion.
