SHILLONG: Two newly inducted ministers in the state Cabinet-  Comingone Ymbon and Dr Celestine Lyngdoh – have vowed to perform to their best of their ability in a short time of 4-5 months before the state goes to polls early next year.

Speaking to media persons after being sworn in as a minister, Comingone Ymbon said that he would try his best to work for the state. “I don’t want to talk much now as four months’ time is very short,” he said

Asked if it was a wrong time to induct him as a Minister, he said that it was, in fact, the right time as he could show his performance to the people of his constituency and the state.

“I will try to do my best for the state with the cooperation of and blessings of the Chief Minister as without his blessings, I cannot do anything,” he told reporters.

On the other hand, Dr Celestine Lyngdoh said that he would try his best to perform even though the time was short. He said, he believed in the principle of `every day counts’.

He said that his priority would be to find out the problem faced by the department allotted to him and added that he would have to perform though the time was short.

When asked if his induction in the Cabinet would restrict him from focusing on his constituency, he said that he had been given an opportunity to hone his capability to handle things in a tough situation.
