SHILLONG: Congress legislator AL Hek said if BJP invites him, he would meet its national president Amit Shah during his visit to Shillong this month.
“There is nothing wrong in meeting the BJP president if an invitation comes,” Hek said on Friday, adding that there is nothing much to speculate on this.
When contacted, State BJP president Shibun Lyngdoh said the party is yet to schedule the meeting of the BJP central leader.
“We have to send feelers to the MLAs only when we finalise the date of visit of Shah,” he said.
According to the State party leader, at least seven to eight MLAs are keen to meet the BJP president during his visit.
Lyngdoh said during the three-day visit of BJP national general secretary in charge organisation Ram Lal to the state from August 8, the date for the visit of Shah will be fixed.
‘All is not well in Cong’
He said the Cabinet reshuffle by the Congress leadership at the fag end of the current term indicates that all is not well within the Congress.
Lyngdoh, however, added that induction and dropping of ministers is the internal matter of the Congress. “On our part we will try to get rid of the Congress from Meghalaya in the next elections,” he asserted.
