Six coal laden trucks detained in Ri-Bhoi for violating NGT ban

SHILLONG:  Illegal transportation of coal continues unabated in violation of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) ban  and it has once again come to the fore with detaining of six trucks at Umsamlem, Ri-Bhoi district for transporting coal on Saturday.

These trucks are:  AS 01 GC 0437 driven by Saiful Islam, AS 01 FC 4245 driven by Abdul Sahid, AS 01 FC 3137 driven by Lucky Singh, AS01 HC 7537driven by Ajit Lama, AS 01 GC 7073 driven by Krishna Daimary, ML 04 B 3859 driven by Phermi Ryngkhlen.

Accordingly, a FIR has been lodged and a case registered. The drivers of the trucks are being forwarded to court.
