Guv, CS inducted in scouts & guides

SHILLONG: Governor Banwarilal Purohit and Chief Secretary Y. Tsering have been inducted as the Patron and the President of Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides, respectively, in an induction ceremony held at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor said he was aware of the activities of the scouts and guides in Assam as he had the opportunity to attend a few events in Assam recently.
Referring to the Annual Report 2016-17 on the progress of the Bharat Scouts and Guides in Meghalaya, Purohit said, “Some of the flagship programmes of the central and state governments have been taken up to support effective implementation.”
