AIZAWL: Mizoram Governor V Purushothaman looked really keen to make Mizoram a tourist destination like his ‘God’s own country’ Kerala.

Addressing on the concluding day of the two-day Thalfavang Kut festival at Hmuifang tourist resort on Saturday, Mr Purushothaman said domestic and foreign tourists were really impressed by Mizos’ colourful dances.

“We can make our dances, handlooms and handicrafts and the natural beauty of the land a tourist attraction and make lot of money,” he said.

The two-day festival was concluded with colourful traditional dances, beautiful music and entertainment.

However, inaugurating the festival on Friday, Art and Culture Minister P C Zoramsangliana said the festival was sponsored by the Central Government, which advised the state to organise at least four traditional festivals a year, to boost the tourism industry. (UNI)
