NONGPOH: Students of Alpha English Higher Secondary School felicitated the principal, Wandamon K Blah, in a grand function held on the school premises for having received the teachers’ National Award 2016 which was conferred by the Vice President of India on Teachers’ Day celebration in New Delhi this year. Another recipient of the award is Hendro Dkhar, Head Teacher at Jalaphet RCLP School in East Jaintia Hills.
The Minister of Education, Deborah Ch Mark, graced the occasion as chief guest and the District School Education Officer (DSEO) of Ri Bhoi, V.S Nongbet was the guest of honour.
Two other teachers of the school, Madhav Singh and Iadalin M Nongkseh, were also felicitated as recipients of the District Award 2016, which was presented by the DSEO on Teachers’ Day.
