SHILLONG: Cases of crime continue to be reported on social media including Facebook, despite police issuing advisories from time to time.
Napoleon S Mawphniang, McDonald Pyngrope and Wilbertson M Shylla have lodged a joint complaint that one Debashish Medhi and Vinay Joshi, posted objectionable and inappropriate comments on Facebook accounts, hurting the sentiments of Christians and inciting hatred between the Christian and non-Christian Khasi communities.
Police said investigation of the case was on and that they were trying to establish the identity of the persons who made the comments on social media.
In another case, a woman lodged a complaint that unknown persons had hacked her e-mail and uploaded her personal photograph from the Internet.
