Body of premature baby found

JOWAI: The body of a premature newborn was recovered from a stream at Dulong Pohhali in Jowai on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the infant might have been born prematurely. They took the body to Jowai civil hospital, Ialong, for postmortem. The police are also trying to trace the mother.
Another body of an eight-month-old baby was recovered from the Myntang river on Sunday.
Police said a woman, identified as Shidanoris Talang (37), went missing from her residence on Wednesday. Sources said she went to commit suicide by jumping into the river along with her baby. According to villagers of Shilliang-Myntang, the woman had attempted suicide in the past too.
