NONGSTOIN: The People’s Democratic Front (PDF) will field Councellor Wahlang from Mairang constituency in the 2018 Assembly elections.
A function was held to welcome Wahlang and hundreds of supporters at Tirot Sing Community hall at Pyndengumiong in Mairang.
Wahlang, who was also appointed the president of the Mairang Zonal Committee, will have to face sitting MLA from Mairang Metbah Lyngdoh in the Assembly polls.
PDF has already started preparing for the Assembly elections and announced a number of candidates.
Wahlang had joined the Congress this year but within a short span of time he shifted to PDF.
“I believe the PDF can bring a change in our constituency,” he said.
The programme was attended by MDC’s and members of PDF.
