With the government failing to act despite the deadline expiring, the workers have decided to go ahead with the protest.

A letter of intimation has been submitted to the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner copies of which, have also been given to the DCs and SPs of other Garo Hills districts as well as PHE authorities.

The workers while announcing the strike have also made an appeal to the authorities to look into their grievances so that the matter can be peacefully resolved.
