SHILLONG: A complaint against motor vehicle inspector, Ivan Shandor Kharmon for allegedly possessing black money, has been withdrawn.
Mark AP Basaiawmoit, who had lodged the complaint with the State Vigilance Commissioner seeking action against the MVI, withdrew the complaint.
In a statement issued here, Basaiawmoit said there was a misunderstanding between him and Kharmon who is presently posted at Nongstoin, which prompted him to lodge the complaint on October 6 without corroborating the facts.
In the complaint, he alleged that Kharmon possessed black money, owned illegally purchased land, had many accounts in various banks and indulged in corruption.
He further said that he withdrew because the allegations were “false and exaggerated”.
In a letter to the vigilance commissioner, State Vigilance Commission, Basaiawmoit stated that he had settled/compromised and mitigated his differences with Kharmon and urged the vigilance commissioner to treat the complaint against him as false and to close the same.
