SHILLONG: A special joint meeting cum joint inspection regarding the implementation of various departmental government schemes sanctioned recently was organised at Lumsohphoh Upper Lumparing Community Hall on Thursday.
MLA Sanbor Shullai took the initiative to organise the meeting in collaboration with the Monitoring Cum Implementation Committee (MCIC) of South Shillong constituency.
The meeting was attended by three Dorbar Shnongs of Greater Lumparing comprising Rangbah Shnong, Secretary Shnong, Rangbah Dong and members of Dorbar Shnong Upper Lumparing, Dorbar Shnong Lower Lumparing and Dorbar Shnong Kynjat Phutbol-Riat Laban along with top officials of the tourism, forest department, PWD (roads), sports, PHE and MePDCL departments.
The meeting was chaired by H.B Wahlang, Rangbah Shnong, Upper Lumparing and the discussion was participated by members of Dorbar Shnong and officials of various departments regarding speedy implementation of all the recently sanctioned schemes followed by joint inspection.
Shullai appealed to the authorities to work collectively and monitor and implement all the sanctioned schemes meant for the people.
Lauding the sustained efforts of Shullai, MCIC secretary, Anthony Marwein said various development schemes have been selected, approved and sanctioned by the government due to the MLA’s perseverance and personal initiatives.
Among the schemes, six have been sanctioned under PWD, while one each under tourism, sports and PHE departments.
The total sanctioned amount under all the departments stands at Rs 10.7crore.
