SHILLONG: A Felicitation of Child Friendly Traffic Police cum Children’s Day programme was organised by CHILDLINE Shillong Bosco Integrated Development Society at Sadar police station on Tuesday.The programme was supported by the police department of East Khasi Hills.
Children from Spark learning centre and Paltan Bazar participated in the programme whereby they felicitated the 15 child friendly traffic police with mementoes and presented special items.
These traffic police were felicitated for being child friendly and for ensuring the safety of children on the road.
Social Works students from Martin Luther Christian university and Indian Institute of Professional Studies presented special items for the children.
The chief guest on the occasion was the Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills Davis N R Marak, IPS. He reminded about the presence of Juvenile Police Unit and the Child Welfare Police Officers to address child rights violation. The officer in-charge Sadar Police Station, D.K Prasad and Director of CHILDLINE Shilling, T R Mallai also spoke on the occasion.
