NONGSTOIN: Former Speaker of Lok Sabha and general secretary of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)P A Sangma inaugurated the Nongstoin NCP Block office at Nongstoin on Saturday.
The programme was attended by leader of opposition Conrad Sangma, O K Sangma MLA, DM Daseng MLA and Dr WDR Kharlukhi among others.
Addressing the gathering Conrad Sangma said that he was happy at the way people have come forward to support the party especially in the last few months.
He attributed the State INC party as leaderless beingf controlled by three Congress political heavyweights namely Dr Mukul Sangma, DD Lapang and either Friday Lyngdoh or Vincent Pala. Due to their in-fighting for leadership, the party cannot deliver to the people, he said.
Under such circumstances how can you expect them to work for the people, he questioned.
PA Sangma speaking on the occasion said that he had as the desire to work for his home state and hence he joined state politics, mainly for the love of his people.
He promised a sea change in the state and appealed the people of Meghalaya to give them a single chance to rule in the state.
Seth Sing Dkhar has been given NCP ticket for the 2013 Assembly Election from Nongstoin Constituency.
Till date he has enrolled more than 500 NCP members in the Nongstoin Constituency. The NCP of West Khasi Hills District will hold a public rally at Nongstoin during the month of April 2012.
