KHNAM to formally merge with UDP today

 SHILLONG: The much-anticipated merger of the Khun Hynniew-trep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) with the United Democratic Party (UDP) will take place on Monday.

UDP working president Bindo M Lanong on Sunday informed that the KHNAM members would be formally inducted into the UDP at a special reception ceremony at Laban Sports Club premises at 12 noon on Monday.

Senior leaders of both the parties would be speaking on the proposed merger on the occasion, Lanong informed.

He also informed that the UDP Central Executive Committee (CEC) would be meeting prior to the reception ceremony to amend the party constitution for creating some posts which would be given to the KHNAM leaders.

Lanong also said that the posts awarded to the KHNAM leaders would be announced during the reception ceremony.
