Children’s meet

Kohima: The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), Kohima Churches along with King’s Kids International (KKI), South Asia, would organise a children’s conference from January 6 to 8 at Government High School Ground base.

An official statement here said the main speakers will include Russell Sanche, Director, KKI, Canada, Babara Ruegger Pastoral Care KKI, South Asia, Noell Bhujal Director KKI South Asia and Himalaya Region. (UNI)

 KYKL cadre arrested

Imphal: Assam Rifles has apprehended a kanglei yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) cadre from Chairel.

The man was identified SS Sgt Sorokhoibam Sanjeet Singh.

Meanwhile, Taohangshu Heiremcha, ”Chief of the Publicity Department” of the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) said Manipur Police arrested a woman who was the former ”Asstt Secretary” of RPF and added she had retired in 2008.

However, police had claimed that she was still the Asstt Secy of women wing, RPF. (UNI)

 Student killed in Arunachal road mishap

Itanagar: A student died while eleven others were injured when a speeding vehicle hit them in a picnic spot at Miao in Changlang district on Saturday.

Police said on Sunday that the picnic party was returning from the spot after day-long amusement when the vehicle suddenly hit them after losing control in the sandy country road while trying to overtake a vehicle.

All the injured, mostly students were immediately admitted to hospital and their condition were stated to be out of danger, the police added. (PTI)
