Upper age limit for nurses, docs up by 10 yrs

SHILLONG: The Cabinet on Thursday approved a proposal to increase the upper age limit for recruitment of nurses and doctors by 10 years.
Chief Minister Mukul Sangma said the government wants to take advantage of medical professionals who come back to the state with experience.
Besides, the Cabinet approved a series of proposals on Thursday. It gave its nod to the rules for effective implementation of certain provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
The rules have been put in public domain for views and suggestions.
It also gave green signal to the extension of an officer on special duty at Meghalaya House in Guwahati till December 31 on contract basis to
ensure proper maintenance and supervision. After the extension is over, the General Administration Department will post a similar level officer.
The Cabinet cleared the decks for appointment of an assistant lecturer of Commerce at Pine Mount School.
