SHILLONG: Mukul Sangma on Friday termed BJP and RSS as “agents of the devil” and alleged that their agenda was to divide people of the state.
Addressing party workers and legislators at Congress Bhavan here, Sangma said the Congress government “has done what is needed to be done” and that “legislators are agents of God who have to fight against the opposing agent”.
“They (BJP leaders) talk about change and a new Meghalaya and in new Meghalaya where will they implement the agenda of RSS? Their new agenda will be dictated from Nagpur,” he added.
Pointing out the RSS’s attempt to divide the Garo community, the chief minister said, “They (RSS) come to them and say that they were not Christians and that Garos are one of them. How will our people be like one of them? We are tribals, we are non-vegetarians, we eat everything and some of the people eat everything that moves.”
Referring to the alleged disturbances created by
( fringe elements that prevented Christmas celebrations in some parts of the country, Sangma said he has written a letter to his counterparts in other states as some students from the North East are also staying there.
The RSS’s cultural and social invasion is dangerous for the people in Meghalaya, he asserted.
Indicating that both BJP and RSS have the same agenda and that the latter wants to amend the Constitution, the chief minister said, “They need to have 2/3 majority in the Rajya Sabha and they will require the ratification of all the states’ legislature which is their agenda.”
He cautioned Congress workers against the RSS’s hidden agenda.
“If you do not have a Congress government, there will be a BJP nominee in the Rayja Sabha. They are targeting every state as they want to have numbers in the Rajya Sabha as the numbers in the Lok Sabha is not enough for them to complete their agenda,” he said and predicted 38-seat win for the Congress in the state.
“From Monday we are hitting the battle ground and will utilise our time accordingly,” he added.
