NCP candidate in a spot over seizure of watches

SHILLONG: South Shillong NCP candidate Vikash Gupta steered himself into a tight spot after election officials seized 87 children’s watches from a vehicle on Sunday.
In a statement issued here, an official said that the driver of the vehicle claimed that the articles were being transported on the advice of the candidate.
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar said that a notice will be issued to the candidate and an inquiry will be initiated in this matter.
