People assaulted for supporting BJP

SHILLONG: Persons who attended BJP meetings were assaulted in separate incidents days before the state went to polls.
On February 23, Thious Shylla lodged a complaint that he was threatened with dire consequences if his family cast their votes for BJP.
While he was returning home after attending an election meeting of the BJP at Ladrymbai in East Jaintia Hills(EJH) and on reaching Byndihati (EJH), a group of people under the leadership of Bhamon Shylla, Wanbait Nongtdu, Amos Shylla, Rest Shylla, Blat Shylla, Wa Rymbai, Anthony Lapasam and Yooshida assaulted him.
They tried to abduct him but was released on the intervention of his wife and he also sustained injuries. They also snatched his vehicle key.
Again on the same day, Fedrick Rymbai was returning home after attending an election meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party at Ladrymbai in East JAintia Hills and on reaching Deinchynrum, NH-44 , around 15-20 persons led by Bhamon Shylla and Mon Shylla, assaulted him and also threatened him with dire consequences.
In another incident, Morning Sympli lodged a complaint that on February 21 around 9.30 pm, while he was returning home after attending an election meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at Jalyiah village in East Jaintia Hills, a group of people under the leadership of Mon Shylla, Phrangki Shylla and Ani Shylla all of Byndihati village in East Jaintia Hills assaulted the complainant and also threatened him with dire consequences.
