SHILLONG: A city-based cycling club has helped in setting up a bicycle stand at St Edmund’s College.
The stand was inaugurated last Saturday by Principal Sylvanus Lamare, Brother Simon Coelho, Cycling Shillong and also teachers and students.
The main purpose for the cycle stand is to encourage more students and teachers to use cycles.
Cycling Club, which has 41 registered members and is led by Abhishek Bhagotia, is planning to promote use of cycles in other colleges too, said a former member.
The college’s NOW ECO CLUB had recently conducted a cycle rally to Sohra.
