SHILLONG: The Upper Shillong unit of the Federation of Khasi-Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) has sent a letter to the Syiem of Hima Mylliem informing about alleged illegal activities at U Lum Shyllong, popularly known as the Shillong Peak.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the union said there are illegal wine shops at the popular tourist site. It also alleged that the scenic beauty of the area is being affected by illegal felling of trees. FKJGP has urged the Hima to act against the liquor stores and those responsible for cutting down trees.
