No question Hour
The Assembly on Monday did not have the question hour prompting the opposition to raise the matter in the House. The Speaker assured that the question hour will be listed on the next day.

From Shrimati to Kumari
NPP legislator and government chief whip Agatha Sangma did not like Assembly records mentioning her as Shrimati as she said that she was still Kumari. Shrimati in Hindi is the equivalent of Mrs in English. “The opposition is raising the issue of Hindi usage and Shrimati is attributed to me instead of Kumari. I am not yet Shrimati as I am yet to be married,” Agatha said while moving the motion of thanks to the governor’s address on Monday.

Boomerang effect
While Congress legislators, including Ampareen Lyngdoh, criticised the lapses of the government on various fronts, it was not the 14-day-old new government that was affected. Lyngdoh was vociferous on the issues related to crime against women and deficiencies in health sector among others which, however, should have been addressed by the Congees-led government in the past eight years. In fact, the governor’s address was a reflection of the activities of previous the government.
