TURA: The deputy commissioner of West Garo Hills has asked the chief executive officer of Tura Municipal Board to submit a report within 15 days on unregulated mushrooming of private schools, untrained kindergarten teachers and fire safety in these schools.
The DC held a meeting to review traffic congestion in the town. A majority of the people present at the meeting said the pathetic condition of roads is due to several private schools, especially kindergartens.
Many kindergartens are located in congested areas and are not registered with the police, fire services, the Education Department, the civic body or the District Child Protection Officer. The teachers and staff in these schools are untrained.
MV Act violation
Meanwhile, the district magistrate has issued an order instructing people against violating the Motor Vehicles Act.
The notification has asked people not to allow minors to drive or ride, not to be on the wheel when drunk, not to ride two-wheelers without helmet and not to speed.
The magistrate has directed the SP, traffic police, the Motor Vehicle Department and principals of educational institutes to create awareness among youths and their parents on road safety.
