Ex-service man of Indian Air Force passes away

SHILLONG: Evangell Lebanon Wahlang (82) who was an ex-service man of Indian Air Force (IAF) and a resident of Springside, Nongthymmai passed away on Friday last, and was buried at the Laitumkhrah Presbyterian Cemetery at Lawjynriew, Nongthymmai on Sunday.
Born on the May 13,1938, to Merily Wahlang and Late. Rev Givindro Lyngdoh, he was the youngest among six siblings. He served at IAF for about 16 years till the age of 35 and was a specialist in the engine of the aircraft.
He also worked in the Home Guards and ICAR Umiam in the field of engineering. Coming from a very humble background during the pre-independence period, he worked tirelessly to excel in his education. He was a good natured man and always ready to advise the young in their career. Though his life is of a high caliber yet his life speaks volume as a man of integrity who has lived a life of humility, gentleness and humbleness.
