Monitoring committee holds meet in Tura

 TURA: The District Planning and Monitoring Committee on Monday held a meeting at the office chamber of the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner with an aim to discuss and solve inter-departmental problems and clear misunderstandings on issues that crop up while implementing schemes which are convergence in nature.

 

DRDA Project Director, A M Sangma, TMB CEM, S B Marak, Block Development Officers and heads of various departments in the district were present during the meeting.

 

In view of media reports of quarterly visits of State Cabinet Ministers, who would also hold District Coordination meetings, the Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Chairman of the Committee directed all departments to prepare and submit power point presentation about the profile of the department, status of financial prospect, ongoing schemes, including photographs and vision document which would be prepared by compiling the reports of all departments.

 

He also informed that World Environment Day would also be celebrated in a befitting manner on June 5 by planting saplings in and around Tura town where South Tura MLA, Agatha Sangma is likely to attend.

 

Singh also suggested reviving the Officers Club in the district so as to familiarize themselves with one another and to create recreational programs in order to socialize and remain in meaningful activities.
