Ri Bhoi youth dies of ‘electrocution’

Nongpoh: A 23 year-old youth identified as Jona Thabah hailing from Lumbyrhing village, Ri Bhoi district, died on the spot due to suspected electrocution in the jungle on Thursday.
According to sources, the incident occurred in morning and the body was recovered by the younger brother Baniarbor Thabah, who went to the jungle to collect firewood.
The younger brother informed that he went to the jungle at 7 am and it was at 10 am that he found his elder brother lying dead in the forest suspecting of electrocution from the 11KV line passing through.
Nongpoh police rushed to the spot and the cadaver was later shifted to Civil Hospital, Nongpoh for postmortem.
