SHILLONG: The State Congress has refused to accept that Ranikor MLA MM Danggo will be joining  NPP saying all the  21 MLAs of the party are intact.

Speaking to media persons  here on Wednesday, Congress spokesperson, Zenith Sangma  said that nothing could be final in politics  even as he added that Danggo was a seasoned and matured politician and he could not take a  wrong decision.

“ There must be some other agenda which cannot be spelled out at this moment,” he said

It may be mentioned that MM Danggo recently attended a NPP meeting in Ranikor and asserted that he would join NPP if the  NPP-led Government upgraded Ranikor into a civil sub-division.

Stating that some communication has been made to the party leadership in block and unit following the recent developments, he added that it was only the District Congress Committee (DCC) which can dissolve the  party blocks

The Congress leader also denied the allegations that MM Danggo was demanding  Civil Sub division for Ranikor as he claimed that Danggo always wanted an administrative unit for Ranikor and it was approved immediately.

He said that   it was the MUA Government which  created South West Khasi Hills District in  2012  and Ranikor area was neglected since the inception of the state adding that the previous government made massive investments in the area in terms of road  and 136  kilometer road was sanctioned from Baghmara to Ranikor

Sangma also slammed the NPP  for lowering the  flag of Congress saying it was an insult to the Congress and all political parties must be respected.

When asked if the MLAs had issues with the party leadership in the state, he said that  leadership is decided by all the members of the Congress Legislature Party

When asked if Danggo would be punished for anti-party activities, Sangma said that   the matter had to be investigated by the party and then a conclusion would be reached if it was an anti party activity
