Dohling envisions IT Park in Shillong

SHILLONG: Minister of Information Technology and Communication Department, Hamletson Dohling’s vision is to develop an IT Park in New Shillong where 450 hundred youths will be employed.
Speaking as the chief guest at the 2nd Convocation of Computer and Language Trainees of Ramakrishna Mission here, he lauded the initiative taken by the Institute to offer the courses to the youth. He also inspired the youth by sharing his journey as a student and how the process of teaching and learning has progressed throughout the years.
In his interaction with the youths, he informed that the government is planning to set up a new project which they expect to be implemented within the next 5 years which will be a free Wi-Fi zone.
During the function the institution distributed about 1000 certificates to the meritorious Computer and Language trainees, scholarship to about 8 students as well as MOS to 22 students. Computers were also given to two meritorious students – Ibansumarlang Diengdoh and Martina Mawlong.
The students who topped the academics included Rijananai Nongdhar for Computer – Data Base (Part I), Banshailang Khongtiang for PHP, Genevieve Chyrmang for Web Designing, Aibakor Dkhar for PC Maintenance and Rekha Naparkoti and Menka Thapa for English Language and Communication Skills.
