SHILLONG: The survey of the Sweepers’ Lane (Them Iew Mawlong) is likely to start at the earliest.
An official source told The Shillong Times, that the Directorate of Land Records and Survey will initiate the survey and “it will most probably take place on Monday or Tuesday”.
Sources said that the district administration will provide magistrates and police personnel when the Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) together with the land survey department and Hima Mylliem carry out the survey.
An official source said that exchange of letters is going between the concerned departments with regard to the matter.
The High Level Committee (HLC) on relocation of residents of Iew Mawlong, is waiting for the report of the exhaustive land survey of the colony.
The fresh land survey of the area was required to have clarity since one portion of the land belongs to the Shillong Municipal Board and another to the Hima Mylliem.
After the report from the Directorate of Land Records and Survey, the HLC will sit again for further action on the matter.
