Police arrest one in Langpih assault case

NONGSTOIN: Following the June 16 incident at Langpih in which one person identified as Salestine Lyngdoh was seriously injured after being allegedly attacked by a group of Nepalese and he was also confined in a house at Lawbah without food and released the next morning, the Nongstoin police on Wednesday arrested the person involved in the incident.

The Nongstoin Police arrested one Ganga Pradhan alias Maila Newar of Harshangan (Lawbah) under Langpih ADC.

The Nongstoin Police have registered a case under case No.54 (06) 2018 under section 326/307/34 IPC.

The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU)  and West Khasi Hills District Unit had demanded the Police Department to arrest the person who involved in the assault of Salestine failing which they would be forced to  take action against those Nepalese living in and around West Khasi Hills.
