SHILLONG: The Sohra circle and Ri-War Shella Circle of Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) extended their support to the demand for upgrading the Sohra Sub-Division to a district as suggested by Speaker Donkupar Roy. In line with the demand made by Roy, the HYC in a statement issued here said upgrading the Sohra sub-division to a district will be an advantage to the people of the state which will bring the government close to the people.
The organisation will meet the heads of traditional institutions and other leaders to discuss on the matter and urge the public representatives of Shella and Sohra constituencies to take the matter seriously.
