SHILLONG: The People’s Democratic Front (PDF) on Tuesday organised a consultation meeting at Rangthong, Ranikor on the possibility of fielding a common candidate for the upcoming by-election.
PDF chairman, P.N Syiem said functionaries from different political parties attended the meeting and reacted positively to the call for a common candidate.
Those who attended the meeting included former president of NPP Ranikor Block, C. Shnagdiar and leaders of the Congress, BJP and UDP, who are reportedly in favour of projecting the PDF chief as the common candidate for the Ranikor by-poll.
