Laitumkhrah Presbyterian Church felicitates elderly members

SHILLONG: Recognising the contribution of the church elders, the Laitumkhrah Presbyterian Church, felicitated the elderly during the afternoon worship service on Sunday. A total of 57 elderly above the age of 80 were felicitated by the senior Pastor Rev Dr J F Jyrwa. Nancy Kharmawphlang, who is the oldest member, had just completed 104 years.
Rev E L Kharmawphlang, Chairman of the church, informed the congregation that the objective of the programme is to recognise the contribution made by the elderly members of the church. He further added that the programme served as a reminder to church members and the community at large of the cultural tradition of respecting and providing care and support to the elderly.
